Bloodroot Writer's Collective is a youth-led literary initiative rooted in the hills of Rowan County and inspired by the fleeting yet powerful blooms of Appalachian forests. Like bloodroot and ginseng--resilient plants that rise, boldly, briefly, and with purpose--we nurture young voices ready to be heard.
Through writing, mentorship, performance, and community, we create space for stories to take root and flourish. Here, students explore identity, belonging, and stewardship of the land we call home--cultivating a new generation of storytellers connected to Appalachian traditions and daring to dream boldly toward the future.
