Business Basics Workshops Planned in Pikeville

Morehead State University’s East Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Pikeville and the Pike County Extension Office will offer area artists, small business owners and potential entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn more about the basics of business planning, marketing, record keeping and business lending.

The four course series will include start-up considerations, self-evaluations, business structures, choosing the correct marketing strategy, defining key business financial documents and what they say about your business, business lending, business credit and much more.

Workshop presenters will be Mike Morley and Michelle Spriggs with the Pikeville and Paintsville Small Business Development Centers.

The four-session course will be offered on Jan. 12, Jan. 19, Jan. 26 and Feb. 9, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Pike County Extension Office, 148 Trivette Drive, Pikeville.

Training sessions are being offered at no cost but prior registration is required.

Training programs, sponsored or co-sponsored by SBDC, are available to all individuals without regard to race, color, sex, creed or national origin. Special arrangements will be made for those with disabilities if requested in advance.
