Morehead’s Radio Shack Store is among those that will be closed as a result of the company’s bankruptcy.
The 25-hundred square foot facility in the Pinecrest Shopping Center appears on a list stores that will be mothballed as the Texas-based firm proceeds with its liquidation plan.
The Radio Shack location in the Ashland Town Center does not appear on the list but a story in the Huntington Herald-Dispatch says there’s a “blowout clearance” sign in front of the store.
Employees tell the paper the sign is consistent with reclassification as a clearance location and it has not been receiving any new merchandise.
On Thursday (Feb. 5), officials with the Radio Shack Corporation said it has a deal to sell as many as 24-hundred stores to Standard General, which is a hedge fund and Radio Shack’s largest shareholder.
