26th Annual Derby Eve Gala Now Taking Place September 4th

WVXU

As Churchill Downs announced the postponement of the Kentucky Derby this week amid concerns about the coronavirus epidemic, the American Lung Association in Kentucky’s 26th annual Derby Eve Gala will now take place on Friday, September 4th.

“The health and well-being of Lung Association event participants, volunteers, staff and partners is our top priority. So we commend Churchill Downs for their decision and are happy to follow suit," said Deena Adams, Executive Director of the Lung Association.

“We also feel fortunate to announce that attendees will still have the experience they are expecting, the same venue, band and ambiance. Until then, the Lung Association urges the public to follow the latest updates from and guidance given by the CDC on all COVID-19 related issues,” Adams concluded.
