Bestselling Author to Visit Fleming County

Christian Book

The Fleming County Public Library will host an author talk on Saturday featuring Shelley Shepard Gray.

The location of the talk has been changed to the Flemingsburg Baptist Church on Kentucky 32, due to a conflict with scheduling at the library and will begin at 2 p.m, according to Fleming County Public Library Adult Services Coordinator Beverly Cooper.

Gray is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of several Amish themed novels, including Sisters of the HeartSeasons of SugarcreekHeart of a Hero and many others.

"I believe she has at least eight series of novels," Cooper said. "And many more books in each of those series."

Between 2-3 p.m., Gray will discuss her series of books. Refreshments will also be provided. The cost is $5 per person. At 3 p.m., however, the event will open to the remainder of the public for free.

"We're doing that so people who have copies of her books can come have them signed," Cooper said.

Cooper said Gray's novels are very popular in Fleming County, which is what made her contact Gray.

"A lot of people read her novels here," Cooper said. "So, I contacted her on Facebook and asked if she ever spoke at small town libraries. I was sure she would say no, but instead, she said she would do it and put me in contact with her publicist. She's such a nice person and we're very excited to have her coming here."

Cooper said tickets for the 2-3 p.m. talk are available at the library and will also be available at the door. Anyone interested in purchasing a ticket can contact the FCPL at 606-845-7851 or stop by the front desk. There are about 40 tickets remaining.
