Kentucky Women Honored for Their Contributions to Others

governors.e-archives.ky.gov

The Kentucky Commission on Women (KCW) has traditionally used March to honor women of the past; however, this year, KCW is honoring the women of the present shaping women of the future. KCW sought nominations from around the state.

“Positive role models and mentors are immensely important for women and girls,” said KCW executive director Cordelia Harbut. “We want to encourage these relationships by recognizing women who are positively influencing the lives of women and girls as they assist them in creating their own history.”

At an event later this year, Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton will recognize the award winners. “I look forward to honoring and fellowshipping with these remarkable women,” said Lt. Gov. Hampton.

The recipients of the award embody the full characteristics of selflessness in their dedication to helping others. KCW will recognize their efforts and contributions on a variety of social and public media outlets throughout the month of March.

Additional information can be found at www.women.ky.gov or by contacting the Kentucky Commission on Women at 502-564-2611 or kcw@ky.gov.
