MSPR Announces New Weekend Program Schedule

Morehead State Public Radio (WMKY at 90.3FM) has announced a new weekend program schedule with the addition of new programs. The updated program schedule will begin the weekend of September 15.

New Programs

The Midnight Special (Fridays, 10 p.m.), hosted by Marilyn Rea Beyer, is a nationally syndicated, two-hour music program of roots-based Americana, blues, country, and folk music.

Folk Alley (Sundays, 10 a.m.), hosted by Elena See, is a nationally syndicated, two-hour folk music program featuring singer/songwriters of blues, bluegrass, Americana, and Celtic music.

High Country Celtic Radio (Saturdays, 1 p.m.), hosted by Katie Marie and Joe Bly, is a nationally syndicated music program of traditional, acoustic Celtic music of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Northern Spain, and the Isle of Man.

Familiar Favorite

Pickin’ Parlor (Sundays, 12 p.m.), locally hosted by Anabel Peterman, is a two-hour, acoustic-based music program spotlighting new and traditional old-time, folk, country, and bluegrass music.

New Days and Times

Conversations from The World Café (Fridays, 9 p.m.) highlights a collection of interviews and performances from musicians and songwriters featured on The World Café.

eTown (Saturdays, 4 p.m.) is a live performance radio show from Boulder, Colorado with a mission to educate, entertain, and inspire audiences through music and conversation.

Inside Appalachia (repeated Sundays, 7 a.m.) tells stories in a magazine-style format about the people, places, and rich culture of Appalachia.

Ozark Highlands Radio (repeated Sunday, 4 p.m.) features live musical and spoken word performances recorded at the Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View, Arkansas.

As new programs are available, Grant Alden’s Field Notes and Doug Chatham’s Odd Numbers can be heard on Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m.
