Paving of the KY 32 Morehead connector continues this week between Big Four Street and Mabry Drive downtown.
Weather permitting; it’s the goal of the contractor and Kentucky Department of Highways to have major work finished and lane closures removed before Thursday’s (August 7) opening day of school. In addition, the state has contracted with law enforcement to provide some downtown traffic control during construction.
The work is part of a $688,421.23 highway improvement contract awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to Hinkle Contracting Company LLC to resurface 1.5 miles of KY 32 in Rowan County.
Road work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow-down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
