Greenup County Road Construction Planned

Motorists are advised that daytime closures of KY 784 in Greenup County will occur this week as Kentucky Department of Highways crews make culvert repairs and replace cross drains under the roadway.

Beginning Wednesday, May 21, and during daytime hours of approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., KY 784 will be closed near the 5 mile marker in the Samaria area between Elton Smith Road and Harlow Hollow. Message boards will indicate specific times and schedules. The road will reopen nights and weekends.

During the closures, all through traffic should reroute using KY 2 or KY 1 in Greenup County or KY 7 and the AA Highway in Carter County.

Road work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
