More than 4,900 Kentuckians have bought “I Support Veterans” license plates since they went on sale just over a year ago and those purchases have generated almost $53,000 for the Kentucky Veterans Trust Fund…That’s according to the Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs Ken Lucas.
He says the plates are available through local county clerks offices…
"Our veterans trust fund is healthy...you can never have too much money. We have over $400,000 that we can give out to various and sundry causes...and like I say, the license plate fees are growing every year." - Ken Lucas.
Lucas says some of the money is used to buy vans in rural areas to improve transportation for veterans.
