Boyd County Bridge Repaired

Google Maps

Boyd County has been given more than $141,000 in emergency assistance from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to repair a bridge on Rockhouse Road. Judge Executive Bud Stevens says state inspectors determined the structure needed to be upgraded for school buses and other vehicles that rely on it…

"When the state came down and inspected our bridge...they told us that I had a bad bridge off of their state route. So I went down...and they core-drilled it and found that it had T-rail instead of I-beams, from like 40 years ago...and they had to have it replaced." - Bud Stevens

Stevens says the county didn’t have the money to make the improvements but was reimbursed for its expenses from the state’s emergency road fund.
