No injuries were reported early Wednesday morning (August 14) when a tractor-trailer rolled onto its side along State Route 32 North near Rowan County High School. Morehead Police Chief Mike Adams says the accident happened around 6 o’clock when the driver pulled off the road to make a phone call.
“He was trying to do the right thing. He was going to make a phone call and he pulled off to the side of the road. He was unfamiliar with the road in the area there, but he pulled off to the side of the road to make a phone call on his phone and unfortunately the surface was not strong enough to hold his truck on the side of the road there and his truck began to teeter and slightly roll over.” --Chief Mike Adams
Chief Adams says the rig was not carrying hazardous materials. Traffic was detoured around the area for about three hours while a wrecker pulled the truck upright. Authorities cleared the scene before noon.
