Though spoked wheels had been around for almost 3,000 years, the ice roads were smoother and required less manpower.

Veteran guard Richie Incognito is alleged to have left intimidating messages and texts on the phone of second-year offensive tackle Jonathan Martin, who left the team last week. The NFL and the Dolphins have transcripts of some of the messages.
Amid A Rough Patch, Howard University Faces Flagging Morale
Howard University has seen its share of troubles lately. Faculty recently expressed their frustration with the school's Board of Trustees with a "no-confidence" vote, weeks after the university's president announced a surprise early retirement and Moody's downgraded the school's credit rating. Senate Advances Employment Non-Discrimination Act
With a vote of 61-30, the Senate voted to move forward on legislation that would prohibit workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. Monday's vote opens the floor to debate on the bill and the Senate is expected to schedule a full vote by week's end.

Japanese Burger Chain Finds Way To Appeal To Women
In Japan, a small mouth is considered attractive on a woman, which was a big problem for the country's biggest burger chain. It introduced a wrapper with a large triangle featuring a serene smile, which hides the real mouth chowing down on the burger. Sales to women have gone up 200 percent.
