U.S. Sends Iran Notice Over Strait Of Hormuz
Iran has reportedly acknowledged receiving a letter from the U.S. about the Strait of Hormuz. Its contents weren't released. Iran's threatened to close off the waterway if sanctions are imposed against its oil sales. An Iranian news agency says the letter's being studied, and the government's determining whether to respond.

'Plan B' Pill to Be Sold Over the Counter
By the end of the year, the emergency contraceptive called "Plan B" will be sold as an over-the-counter drug to women 18 and over. Currently, it is available only by prescription.
Fed, Treasury Announce New Aid For AIG
The government is providing new financial assistance to troubled insurance giant American International Group. It includes pouring $40 billion into the company in return for partial ownership. The action was announced jointly by the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department Monday morning. All told the moves boost aid to the company to around $150 billion.

Nestle To Buy Pfizer's Infant-Nutrition Line
Swiss food and drink giant Nestle announced a deal Monday to acquire Pfizer Inc.'s infant-nutrition business for $11.85 billion in a bid to boost sales in emerging markets. Before the announcement, Nestle already had the largest share of the global baby-formula market at just under 20 percent.
