  • Kate has called West Virginia home for over 30 years. A native of Ohio, Kate came to West Virginia in the 80's to teach in a one-room school in Mingo County. Kate has spent her time in West Virginia working with community groups around the state on economic development issues and in a school setting, serving as vice-principal at a private middle/high school.
  • I am currently a sophomore at West Virginia University. I am studying broadcast journalism at the Reed College of Media and I am minoring in World Religious Studies. I have recently joined the West Virginia Public Broadcasting newsroom as an intern, during this time I am learning better voicing and furthering my knowledge in radio broadcast.   • David Seidel is proud to lead the journalists at Radio IQ and WVTF as news director. David joined the newsroom in May 2017 and brings more than 20 years of experience in broadcast journalism in Virginia. Prior to joining Radio IQ David was an assistant news director, assignment manager and producer at WDBJ Television in Roanoke. He also worked as a reporter for WHSV Television in Harrisonburg. David graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington with degrees in journalism and history.

  • Aspen native Elizabeth Stewart-Severy is excited to be making a return to both the Red Brick, where she attended kindergarten, and the field of journalism. She has spent her entire life playing in the mountains and rivers around Aspen, and is thrilled to be reporting about all things environmental in this special place. She attended the University of Colorado with a Boettcher Scholarship, and graduated as the top student from the School of Journalism in 2006. Her lifelong love of hockey lead to a stint working for the Colorado Avalanche, and she still plays in local leagues and coaches the Aspen Junior Hockey U-19 girls.
