A charge of violating a domestic violence order against the former mayor of Morehead has been dismissed.
Jim Tom Trent appeared in Fayette District Court on February 28th, where the misdemeanor charge was dismissed.
Trent was arrested in November 2018 for allegedly violating a DVO.
Rowan County Sheriff Matt Sparks said at the time that the arrest could have been a clerical error.
The violation charge was dismissed without prejudice.
It is unclear if the DVO is still in place since it was originally filed in a sealed juvenile record.
