A major tech company that opened a location in Morehead a few years ago held the ribbon cutting for their new facility yesterday.
Rajant Corporation is the broadband communications technology company known for inventing multiple industry-leading devices such as Kinetic Mesh networking. State and local officials attended the event, along with leadership with Rajant and Morehead State University.
CEO Bob Schena says the success of the Morehead location has been far and above from what he anticipated.
Schena says a large part of the success here is the result of a career pipeline that has formed from Morehead State University to Rajant. Nearly 95% of the Morehead staff are graduates of the University’s Space Science Center.
Still, Schena says he never really saw his company making its way to the region. He says that advice originally came from the son of Pennsylvania Representative Bud Schuster.
Schena says the Morehead location currently has 24 full-time employees, with plans to double the facility’s size in the future.
