Donald H. Lloyd II Named Next St. Claire HealthCare President and CEO

St. Claire HealthCare

The St. Claire HealthCare Board of Directors is proud to announce the selection of Donald H. Lloyd II as the health system’s new President and Chief Executive Officer beginning May 1.

"After conducting an extensive national search over the past eight months, the Sisters of Notre Dame and the St. Claire HealthCare Board of Directors believe Mr. Lloyd’s impressive background and his rich history of success will lead St. Claire into the future,” said Sister Marla Monahan, SND, St. Claire HealthCare Board of Directors’ Chair.

“Mr. Lloyd brings a wealth of experience from integrated health care delivery systems and is highly regarded for his leadership,” adds Sr. Monahan.  “He values our mission and understands our culture.  Most importantly, he shares our vision that St. Claire HealthCare remain a viable, independent health system.”

Lloyd has over 18 years of health care administration experience as both a chief executive officer and a chief operating officer.  During the past six years, he was president and CEO at CHRISTUS Health Southwest Louisiana, located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina and his Master’s in Business Administration from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina.

Lloyd was born in Huntsville, Alabama but was primarily raised in the Cape Kennedy, Florida area. He met his wife, Monti, in junior high school, and today they are the proud parents of three children, and soon to be five grandchildren.  The Lloyd’s son Buddy and his family reside in Charleston, South Carolina where he works in the concert promotion and production business. Their daughter Katie is a landscape architect and artist. She and her family reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. When the Lloyd’s relocate to Morehead, Lloyd and Monti will be joined by their daughter Liliana, a junior high school student.

“I am excited and anxious to join the men and women who dedicate their lives living the mission of St. Claire, and proclaiming God’s goodness throughout the region,” said Lloyd.  “I believe that God’s grace and providence have led me to this incredible ministry. I am committed to assuring that St. Claire and its mission continue in a manner that will honor the legacy of its past, but embraces the excitement of its future.”

“We are very excited to have Mr. Lloyd as the next president and CEO of St. Claire HealthCare, and we are confident that his knowledge, experience, and energy will be instrumental in moving us forward in our mission and our efforts to remain the region’s leading health care provider," said Sr. Monahan.

Lloyd succeeds longtime St. Claire HealthCare president and CEO, Mark J. Neff who announced his retirement last July.

“Mark’s exemplary vision and leadership skills were the driving force for a number of transformational developments during his almost 24 years of service at St. Claire,” said Sr. Monahan. “He has been truly dedicated to the mission of St. Claire for more than two decades. The Sisters of Notre Dame, St. Claire, and Eastern Kentucky have been abundantly blessed in Mark’s leadership.”
