Kentucky is marking another record-breaking year for 2024 in terms of tourism dollars. Governor Andy Beshear announced last year was the second straight year for the most projects granted final approval by the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority since the incentive was created in 1996. There were 10 projects that received final approval, totaling an estimated $256 million in economic impact. Beshear said combined with other investments, the tourism initiatives will generate many jobs.

“On the economic development side, we'll have secured $6.9 billion in new private sector investment and added 9,425 jobs. That's through economic development alone. If you add the 1,696 jobs and the $256 million through the tourism tax credit program, that's over 11,000 new jobs and over $7.25 billion in new investment,” Beshear said.

Some of the new businesses listed include Louisville Pickleball in Jefferson County, Dossey Vineyards in Warren County, and the new soccer stadium in Lexington. Many of these new tourism spots along with current destinations will be highlighted in the 2025 Kentucky Visitors Guide. Beshear said Kentucky has something for everyone and the new guide will highlight many of the opportunities in “Our New Kentucky Home.”

“From regional trip ideas and travel trips to a map highlighting Kentucky as a premier destination not just to visit, but to live, to work and to have fun, the guide has it all.,” said Beshear.

The new guide is now available at all Kentucky welcome centers across the Commonwealth.

Beshear added the guide is available digitally and physical copies can be ordered online at kentuckytourism.com.
