The Team Kentucky Gallery Exhibition is accepting submissions until December 14. The exhibit runs in six-month cycles and features pictures and paintings by Kentucky artists.
Themes of the artwork often revolve around Kentucky’s natural beauty and wildlife, farms and blue-collar work, city life, and the state’s history.
Kentucky First Lady Britainy Beshear said she hopes Kentuckians will use their creativity and imagination to showcase what the Commonwealth means to them. She said the state’s artists play an important role in the economy.
“Andy and I know that Kentucky’s arts and humanities industry has a huge influence on our state. Generating more than $6.5 billion - with a B - in economic impact. Enriching our culture, our education, and our tourism,” said Beshear.
She said there is not a specific theme this year, but the gallery never disappoints.
“In each Team Kentucky Gallery exhibition, we have seen amazing new perspectives on what brings Kentuckians together,” said Beshear. “From the natural beauty of our state to our shave values and our resilience. We can’t wait to see what the next batch of artwork means,” said Beshear.
Artists are asked to provide a photo of their work along with their personal information before the December deadline. Applicants are limited to submitting one piece for consideration. Works will be selected, and artists will be notified on December 18.
