An Addiction Recovery Care program is the first to receive special accreditation in Kentucky

Addiction Recovery Care

An addiction care provider in the Commonwealth recently received the stamp of approval from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehab Facilities. Officials said this recognition shows that Addiction Recovery Care provides gold-standard care for Kentuckians in need.

The accreditation is the first in Kentucky for a therapeutic community program. Kevin Schmidt is the West Region Chief Operating Officer. He said the accreditation shows ARC’s commitment to quality care.

“It shows the communities that we’re committed to treating substance use disorder and the myriad of mental health disorders that go with that. I think it allows us to help more people. It lets the community know when they send a loved one to us, that they’re in the absolute best hands that they can be,” said Schmidt.

Schmidt said the residential aspect of the therapeutic community program allows people in treatment to develop accountability and support systems in a healthy environment.

“It allows them to build a solid foundation to kind of that time out from the daily grind of paying bills and all the stressors that come with that,” said Schmidt. “To really spend that time in our care to focus on themselves and their recovery.”

Schmidt said receiving accreditation is thanks to the hard work of rehab professionals and those in recovery. He added that people who send loved ones to ARC know they are getting the best possible care.

People who are struggling with substance use disorders or addiction can contact ARC at 606-638-0938 for a free screening. Schmidt said callers who need treatment can be picked up anywhere in the state within 24 hours.
