Behavior health specialists are bringing employment opportunities to Morehead. Officials said the Mountain Comprehensive Care Center’s ReVived Recovery and Essence Recovery are hosting a job fair Tuesday.
The event will be held at the MCCC’s Morehead facility from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jason Jones, Addictions Clinical Coordinator for MCCC, said careers in behavioral health are a good way for those who have been in recovery to give back.
“A lot of people who are usually in recovery, a lot of times they have a heart that wants to help. I find that a lot of people want to come back and give back what they’ve been freely given. And they’ve found a solution to their problems so they’re usually a very giving bunch of individuals,” said Jones.
MCCC will be hiring individuals for a variety of positions that have varying levels of education requirements, from GEDs to graduate degrees. Jones said careers in recovery are a calling, not just a job.
“Revive Recovery, for a lot of people here and working in substance abuse and mental health, it becomes more of a passion and more of a mission than it does a job. A lot of people come into work, and they don’t even feel like they’ve gone to work. It usually attracts a lot of hearts that just want to help and it’s a beautiful thing to watch people heal,” said Jones.
Jones said several positions are hiring on-site, including Peer Support Specialists, Community Support Associates, and Behavioral Health Professionals. Officials said attendees should bring a driver’s license, social security card, resume, highest level diploma, and a voided check in case they’re offered a job on-site.
A full list of the open positions and required documents attendees should bring can be found on the MCCC Facebook page.
