Salt Lickin’ and Park Pickin’ events scheduled to start this summer in Bath County

Shelli Fraley

The city of Salt Lick is gearing up for this summer’s Salt Lickin' and Park Pickin' concert series.

The event will take place at the local park every other Saturday from June 8 through September 14. Organizers said there are amenities for the public, vendors, and performers, including free Wi-Fi, a covered stage, lights, a sound system, and extra electric hook-ups.

Organizer Shelli Fraley said there are still plenty of openings in the schedule for performances.

“I’m still looking for two gospel bands, two bluegrass bands, and I’ve booked a country band. So, we have one other spot for country; and then of course we’ll have our open mics, and I really would like participation with the open mics,” she said.

Organizers said the concert series is a community event, so they are looking for local talent and vendors from the county and surrounding counties to participate.

Fraley added that she’s hoping unique vendors will help bring community participation.

“I don’t want too many of the same type of vendors. Maybe a couple food trucks and craft vendors, you know candles or t-shirts or whatever. The more participation vendor-wise I think the more audience and the more people it will bring,” she said.

Those who are interested in performing, becoming a vendor, or sponsoring the event can contact Fraley on Facebook Messenger at Shelli Knipp Fraley or call her at 606-548-2758.
