Greenup County is under a burn ban due to several fires reported this week. After a grass fire on US 23 on Tuesday Greenup County Judge Executive Bobby Hall signed an executive order to ban outdoor burning for the next five days.
Garth Wireman, Emergency Management Director said they are not sure if the ban will be extended to the fall burn ban, which is October 1st.
“Judge Hall will evaluate that after the five days,” Wireman said.
Wireman also said citizens should adhere to the burn ban.
“If they have questions, contact their local fire department, and they can do that by reaching out to the administrative line of the dispatch center,” Wireman said.
Hall said in the executive order due to the fires that have occurred, a major concern is a fire, or fires, getting out of control.
