Morehead State University faculty have expressed concern about funding for programs in the arts this semester, and administrators are working to dispel rumors.

MSU decreased its projected revenue by $ 5 million dollars for this fiscal year, and administrators have indicated that they are looking for ways to mitigate the impact of an additional $2.5 million dollar decrease in revenue, which has been attributed to enrollment and retention.

During Thursday’s faculty senate meeting held via WebEx, Provost Dr. Tony Norman acknowledge concerns about removing faculty positions, specifically the Gallery director position within the art department.

Norman also denied rumors which indicated the Baird Music building might be torn down.  He said a new H-V-A-C system and additional renovations for the facility are in the works.
