In Memoriam:

“This concert is dedicated in memoriam of Dr. L. Curtis Hammond, Principal French horn of the CRSO from its inception in 2013 to 2020" (May 23, 1962-February 27, 2020)

The Musicians of the Cave Run Symphony Orchestra are saddened to no longer have with us our friend and colleague, Dr. L. Curtis Hammond. Curt was a knowledgeable and talented musician, a witty and caring friend, and a leader for our orchestra, as a member of the Artistic Advisory Committee and the CRSO Board. Dr. Hammond was dedicated to growing our orchestra, planning excellent repertory, and mentoring students in the art of orchestral performance and literature. We miss him and fondly remember all that he brought to our organization and our lives. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to his family. Today’s program was created by Curt in 2019 for a concert in the spring of 2020, so we thought it would be appropriate to honor him during this concert.
