Around 10,000 gallons of chromium waste was recently spilled after two holding tanks burst at SRG Global in Morehead.  The Morehead Utility Plant Board is assisting with the discharge of the one-million gallons of wastewater produced by the incident.  SRG Global is covering all administrative and environmental costs.  They have also signed an agreement with the MUPB assuming liability for any environmental consequences from the spill should they occur.

Here are the full comments from MUPB General Manager Holly McGrath-Rosas during the regular February meeting of Morehead City Council.
