As storm recovery efforts continue in Western Kentucky communities, state officials say the need for monetary donations is continuing to grow.
Residents in cities such as Mayfield have seen a tremendous response from companies, organization and individuals donating to the Commonwealth’s tornado recovery fund. In that same vein, an abundance of supplies such as bottled water and cleaning materials have also made their way to the area.
Rocky Adkins, Senior Advisor to the Governor, says for that reason, he is asking charitable individuals to focus more on the financial needs of families there.
Adkins also wants to stress that the entirety of the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund will be directly helping people affected by the weekend storms.
