WMKY Finalists Announced for 2016 Kentucky APBA Contest

Finalists have been announced in the Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters Association 2016 contest. The awards in actual order of finish -- first or second -- will be announced at the annual Broadcast awards banquet Saturday, April 30 in Louisville.

WMKY received 14 nominations in 10 categories. 

Twenty-nine broadcast organizations submitted 595 entries in the contest, which featured news, sports and weather reporting as well as feature, investigative, and public interest reporting. Awards will also be given for photography, video, and website. The Associated Press is a not-for-profit news cooperative representing 1,400 newspapers and 5,000 broadcast stations in the United States.

Greg Jenkins has been the Operations Director at MSPR since 1999. Greg is a 1996 graduate of Morehead State University with a BME in Music Education and received a Masters of Science in Industrial Technology in 2008. Greg oversees training, scheduling, and evaluation of the student board operator staff, preparation of the daily traffic logs and serves as weekday classical music host. He is also the webmaster of the MSPR website and maintains MSPR's webstreaming and podcasting.
