Spring 2020 sports canceled in Morehead

Gold Coast Little League

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the spring 2020 sports season in Morehead is canceled.

This includes baseball, softball, coach’s pitch and t-ball. The City has made this difficult decision to protect the best interest of our league players, families and volunteers. The City Summer Day Camp Program will not take place this summer. The Sheltowee Falls Splash Pad will be closed during 2020.

After reviewing the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance and restrictions there are too many unknowns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic to hold this season and events while ensuring safety for everyone involved.

A refund will be issued to all registered players.  Refunds will be issued in check form and mailed. We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure accuracy.   The Office of Parks and Recreation has records of everyone who has paid, and refunds will be issued to the address listed on the registration form.

Please contact the Parks and Recreation office if you have not received your refund by August 1, 2020.

The Parks and Recreation Department will continue to evaluate all fall sports, as further state recommendations are handed down. As additional information becomes available the City will update our plans and guidance.

If you have any questions, contact Parks and Recreation at 606-784-8686 or email cityhallinfo@cityofmorehead.net.

Please continue to follow the social distancing and sanitization guidelines that are being presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Kentucky Department of Public Health. Continue to follow state guidelines to promote the best safety precautions to keep those at high risk protected.
