St. Claire HealthCare Offers Virtual Visits

St. Claire HealthCare

St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) is working to ensure that patients are able to continue their medical care during this uncertain time by offering virtual visits.

This innovative system allows patients to connect with their healthcare provider from the convenience of their home through a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

“One of our biggest concerns is that patients in need of medical care for chronic health conditions are putting that care off because they are afraid of contracting the coronavirus,” said Caren Daniels, MD, Associate Chief Medical Officer, Hospital-Based Services at St. Claire. “While their concerns are valid, we don’t want our patients to wait until they are in an emergency situation to seek the care they need.”

The fear of patients prolonging their routine medical care is the driving factor for St. Claire HealthCare to begin offering virtual appointments. Patients are able to receive the care they need how and when they need it.

“I began testing virtual appointments mid-March and am now seeing most of my patients virtually,” said Family Medicine physician Cory Yoder, DO. “With today’s technology, St. Claire has the ability to offer virtual appointments for many specialty practices, including gastroenterology, cardiology, general surgery, and more.”

Virtual visits offer patients a secure way to connect with their healthcare provider for routine appointments and follow-ups from the safety of their home.
