Improving Dental Health Vital to Eastern Kentucky

A professor at the University of Kentucky’s College of Dentistry says improving dental health in eastern Kentucky is vital to its future. Doctor Raynor Mullins says chronic oral infections have plagued the Appalachian region for a long time…

Mullins is encouraged by the grant announced Wednesday in Morehead. The Appalachian Regional Commission is providing half a million dollars to Morehead State University and the University of Kentucky for the Appalachian Rural Dental Education Program. It will enable additional oral health services in 54 eastern Kentucky counties.
