Salvation Army Assisting Homeless

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army’s homeless shelter in Ashland is expected to fill up rapidly as temperatures plunge below zero. Captain Patrick Richmond says the facility has 30 beds and when people come to the shelter for assistance, other needs arise, as well.

“Blankets, especially cots…also some sleeping bags. And we also have guests who come to our location who are just not comfortable staying in a shelter or not staying socially with other people and so they would rather stay outside and try and weather it.” –Patrick Richmond

Richmond adds, the Salvation Army tries to supply items to help individuals brave the elements.
