KY Health Insurance Exchange

KET

The director of the State Health Benefit Exchange says the office is ready to begin enrolling 640,000 uninsured Kentuckians for health care coverage beginning next Tuesday. Carrie Banahan says people can go online at “kynect.ky.gov” at that time and shop for the plan that best suits them.

She says individuals will be able to choose from bronze, silver, gold or platinum coverage. Banahan believes most of them will like the rates being offered…

Banahan shared some examples of the rates with House and Senate members Thursday. She says a couple making $34,000 dollars a year would qualify for a monthly federal subsidy of $520 and could purchase the most economical plan for $567 a month. In effect, she says, that couple would be paying $47 a month for health insurance.
