Congressman Rogers Supports Veterans Bill

The Leader

Kentucky Congressman Hal Rogers is urging passage of a $76.6 billion dollar military construction and veterans affairs bill.

The Somerset Republican is Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee.

He says the measure funds important veterans’ benefits and the infrastructure that supports them. The amount, says Rogers, is $4.6 billion dollars more than last year.

“Yes, we went overboard with what we had to work with, in providing funds for the veterans, and for military construction. That’s a demonstration of our commitment to our veterans and their loved ones.”

Rogers presented the bill on the House floor this week.
