Adkins on Burch Controversy

www.rockyadkins.com

House Majority Leader Rocky Adkins of Morehead says there’s no need for Democratic State Representative Tom Burch to resign following controversial remarks the Louisville lawmaker made about the coal industry last Thursday. In a speech to the Louisville Forum, Burch said a lot of good would come to Kentucky “if we could get coal out of the way”.

During an Energy Subcommittee meeting Friday, Republican State Representative Tim Couch called for Burch, who chairs the Health and Welfare Committee, to step down. Adkins talked to Insight Cable’s Pure Politics about the issue. He differs with Burch on coal but says that’s no reason to compel his colleague’s resignation…

Burch has been a member of the Kentucky Legislature for nearly four decades.
