State officials think turnout for Kentucky’s primary election Tuesday could be less than 30 percent but Rowan County Clerk Jean Bailey is expecting it to be higher in the Morehead area.

There are contested primaries among Democrats for County Judge, Sheriff, Jailer, and County Attorney. Republicans will pick nominees for Sheriff and Jailer.
The polls will be open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
