MSU President on SOAR Summit
Morehead State University’s president says he’s looking forward to hearing what eastern Kentuckians have to say about the region’s economic future. Doctor Wayne Andrews is talking about the summit in Pikeville next week hosted by the newly-formed organization, Shaping Our Appalachian Region. He’s a member of the SOAR group.
It was created by Congressman Hal Rogers and Governor Steve Beshear as a way of bringing people together to talk about strategies for improving the area’s fortunes following the loss of thousands of coal jobs. The Soar Summit is Monday, December 9th. It takes place at Pikeville’s Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.
