Some KY Gas Stations Don't Meet EPA Standards

More than a hundred gas stations in Kentucky would have to close if they’re unable to comply with federal regulations on underground fuel storage tanks…That’s the word from the Commissioner for Environmental Protection in the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet Bruce Scott.

He says the Federal Energy Act requires enhanced protection of such tanks and some stations may not be able to meet the tougher standards…

Scott says the Cabinet has been working with some stations for “a good while” to bring them into compliance with the law but they’ve not been able to do it yet.
