This is Day 14 of the partial government shutdown, which was triggered by differences between Republicans and Democrats over funding of the Affordable Care Act. The GOP-controlled House has not included money for the ACA in any of its resolutions appropriating money for federal operations. Democrats who have a majority in the Senate have declined to consider any of those measures until they do fund the health care law.
