Rogers Backs Interim Funding

Kentucky Congressman Hal Rogers says it’s not his preferred way of budgeting…But he’s supporting a continuing resolution that would keep the federal government operating through December 15th and provide no money for Obama Care. That’s the national health care law that takes effect next year.

The Pulaski County Republican chairs the House Appropriations Committee. He says it’s “high time” for the federal government to “get its fiscal house in order”…

Rogers told the House Rules Committee Wednesday a government shutdown would be “catastrophic” and passage of the continuing resolution would prevent that. He says it’ll keep critical services in place at current funding levels. The government’s spending authority is due to expire at the end of this month without Congressional action.
