McConnell, Beshear on Affordable Care Act

Kentucky’s senior senator says he has just completed his 51st town hall meeting on the federal health care law that takes effect next year and a single theme has emerged from them. Republican Mitch McConnell spoke on the Senate floor Thursday…

McConnell says he’s been holding forums on the Affordable Care Act since 2011.  He claims Kentuckians know more about health care than the members of Congress who voted for the ACA…and the more they know, they more worried they tend to be.

Governor Beshear is urging uninsured Kentuckians to ignore the dire warnings critics of the federal health care law are sounding and sign up for coverage with one of five companies offering policies in the Commonwealth. The governor says they can do so through the online insurance exchange, “kynect.ky.gov”…

The Governor says the companies providing health insurance in Kentucky include Humana, Anthem, United HealthCare, Bluegrass Family Health, and the Kentucky Health Cooperative.
