MSU Holds Dedication of Lundergan Hall

The 24-bed hall is dedicated in memory of Edward T. (Eddie) Lundergan. He began his service at the Derrickson Agricultural Complex in 1979, shortly after graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree in animal science.

His initial appointment was as the manager of the horse barn and coordinator of the equine breeding program. In 1982, Lundergan became farm manager and served continuously in that position until his retirement in 2006.

He consistently provided quality service and leadership as the farm manager for 24 years. Additionally, he willingly and effectively demonstrated an exceptional level of institutional, community and regional service for MSU.

“Today, we honor a great individual in Eddie Lundergan,” said Wayne D. Andrews, MSU president. “Eddie was very proud of the work done by the students here at the Derrickson Agricultural Complex and with the naming of this residential hall, his memory will live on."

The project was designed by Sherman Carter Barnhart of Lexington and built by Codell Construction of Winchester.

The new residential facility is part of nearly $98 million dollars in construction. MSU is in the process of completing the East Parking Complex and Dining Commons, along with the Main Campus Residence Hall. Phase two work on the Adron Doran University Center will begin in 2016.

A second residence hall at the Derrickson Agricultural Complex is expected to be completed in Spring 2016. Both are funded with institutional bonds paid by rental fees from residents.
