The Morehead International Independent Film Festival

MSU

Morehead State University’s Jeffrey Hill, associate professor of mass communication in the Department of Communication, Media and Leadership Studies, will have his latest television series, “The Morehead International Independent Film Festival,” broadcast on KETKY starting in October.

The project consists of nine half-hour television shows containing short films from around the world. It will air on Monday nights at 10 p.m., beginning Oct. 7. There will be rebroadcasts on different days at different times.

The project was partially funded by an MSU Creative Productions Summer Fellowship.

MSU students Shay Hammond of Olive Hill, Sarah Kadish of Smilax, and Ryan Padgett of Morehead, assisted with the project. Dr. Katy Carlson, associate professor of English, assisted with the scripting.

“Unlike a traditional film festival, which might have, say, 100 people watching the film, this festival, by being broadcast on KET, has a potential viewership of more than a million people,” said Hill.

Viewers will have an opportunity to see almost two dozen films from North America and many other countries, including documentaries, narratives, and animated works.

Additional information is available by contacting Hill at 606-783-9383 or at j.hill@moreheadstate.edu.
