Texting-Driving Simulator at Greenup High School

Young people at a northeastern Kentucky high school tomorrow will get a chance to see firsthand the dangers driving while distracted can create.

The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety is setting up a simulator at Greenup County High School that will show students the hazards they face by driving while also attempting to send text messages or use a phone.

Pete Phillips is the school’s youth service center coordinator…

Phillips says the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is telling teenagers that text messaging behind the wheel makes it 23 times more likely the driver will have an accident.
