Morehead State University’s Camden-Carroll Library has received a “Let’s Talk about It” grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.

The grant expands the role of the library in providing educational programming about Muslim culture, which began with the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf grant, which it received last year. The grant comes with funds to support book discussions on select volumes from the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf.

The book discussions will be held in the Spring of 2014.

Dr. Alana Scott, associate professor of history, will be the resident scholar of activities and exploration. Sandy Sumner, outreach and instruction librarian, will be the lead person planning the events.

In conjunction with the grant, MSU’s Arts and Humanities Council, Department of International and Interdisciplinary Studies, Office of Student Activities, Inclusion, and Leadership Development, Theatre and Dance Studies area and Camden-Carroll Library will present the Rakadu Gypsy Dance Troup for a performance and dance master class Thursday, Sept. 19.

The performance will be in Button Auditorium and is open to the public.

Additional information is available by contacting Sumner at 606-783-5110 or by email at s.sumner@moreheadstate.edu.
