ACTC To Conduct Program Assessment

CNN

Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) President Dr. Kay Adkins says the school will conduct an assessment of the Olive Hill area before deciding what types of programs to offer there.

On Tuesday (August 13), Governor Steve Beshear and Congressman Hal Rogers announced that more than 800-thousand dollars would be made available from various sources to remodel the old Olive Hill High School. Part of the 84-year-old facility would then be used as a satellite campus for the ACTC. Adkins says it’s much too soon to determine the courses that could be available at the branch.

It totally depends on the needs, what their needs are. You know it might be computer classes; it might be general education courses. I don’t know at this time because you know it was that, we would work with them and see what kinds of needs they had.”  --Dr. Kay Adkins

Adkins also says there’s no timetable as to when credit or non-credit ACTC programs would be offered in the old high school.
