Massie Supports EV Charging Stations

Green Car Reports

U.S. Representative Thomas Massie is calling on Congress to permit the General Services Administration to build, install and operate charging stations for electric vehicles.

The Lewis County (Kentucky) Republican says those stations would be established at federal facilities and could be used by private vehicles.

“In 2012, Congress passed legislation with broad bi-partisan support to allow members of Congress and their staff to access E-V charging stations on capitol grounds for a fee, but federal agencies currently lack the authority to install and operate electric vehicle charging stations.”

Massie says that would change under his proposal. The congressman spoke on the House floor on Tuesday (November 3).
