As Kentucky lawmakers enter the final days of the 2014 General Assembly, state funds for the Rupp Arena project remain in limbo. Governor Steve Beshear recommended 65 million dollars go toward reinventing Rupp and building a new convention center.
Lexington Representative Ruth Ann Palumbo says it's a project with statewide appeal.
"65 million that is in the budget, it helps the entire state. This is tourism development. It would be good for everybody in the state of Kentucky,” said Palumbo.
Senate President Robert Stivers wants more information about the financing plan for the Lexington projects. He says that plan might be better addressed in the 2015 session.
