Maysville Economic Study To Be Released

Kentucky Heritage Council

State officials from the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet will be in Maysville on Thursday, August 22, to announce the results of a recent study on the economic impact of state and federal tax credits to rehabilitate historic buildings.

They’re planning a 4 o’clock press conference in front of one such building, Lasting Impressions Salon and Spa on East Second Street. Diane Comer is a spokeswoman for the Heritage Cabinet.

“We’re going to be announcing 2013 tax credit statistics for the Kentucky Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program and then also, how that partners with the federal credit for people who rehabilitate historic buildings and also some cumulative numbers from those programs over the last few years.”  --Diane Comer

Comer says, after the press conference, the building in downtown Maysville will be open for tours until 7:00PM.
